alf mcm Posted 11 August , 2008 Share Posted 11 August , 2008 Once a man volunteered to join the R.A.M.C. as a Private he would presumably be given some medical training. Was this done in his unit once he was posted, or was it done in a training unit prior to being posted? How long would this training take? What would happen if he didn't pass his training? Regards, Alf This link should take you to the RAMC Museum site, where you can find out how to obtain an answer to your question: http://www.ams-museum.org.uk/visit.htm The museum is situated in Keogh Barracks at Ash Vale, near Aldershot (Barracks named after Gen Keogh who was in charge before and during the Great War) and is worth a visit.
