Paul Johnson Posted 23 February , 2004 Share Posted 23 February , 2004 Horace WHEATLEY G/13508 Private 7th Battalion. Queens Royal West Surrey Regiment Missing In Action on the 8th November 1916 Horace was killed during the Battle of Albert. The battalion were located in Becourt Wood and had provided working parties to work on defences. It is believed that these parties were attacked by German raiding parties and killed. He has no known grave and his name is recorded on the Thiepval Memorial. Could anyone confirm this for me please or add any further detail?
