Hope someone can help me.

I know the 14 EYR were a training battalion until they became the 90 training reserve battalion in sept 1916 at Blyth near newcastle. But where were the 14 EY based before that time?

Does anyone out there know much about them?

regards,

Michael

Michael,

No, I am from the punishment battalion.

You are confined to quarters for four days for not keeping up with the column! :o

Michael,

The Battalion was formed to provide drafts for the 'Hull Brigade' at Whittington Barracks Litchfield in August 1915, each of the 10th 11th 12th and 13th Bn East Yorkshire Regiment provided a depot company of 250 men and the 14th itself 250, after that it was General Service enlistments. The Battalion moved to Seaton Delaval in January 1916, with a Depot Company at East Hull Barracks.

Regards Charles
