Procat Posted 26 July , 2008 Share Posted 26 July , 2008 Hi John, If he died at home his death certificate will be available and should contain details of the cause of death. He does not appear in the registers for England or Wales. There is only one death on Scotlands People for a McGow in 1915. The certificate can be purchased on-line from Scotlands People. jay dubaya Posted 26 July , 2008 Share Posted 26 July , 2008 Hi John, CWGC has him listed as 1st Bn. and buried in Rosebank Cemetery, incidentely where there is a memorial to the men of the Quintinshill disaster, his service no. doesn't tie in with the 1/7th Bn. though. Maybe there is a CWGC typo here, so it may be worth checking with Terry Denham. The 17th Bn were in Selkirk during May 1915 before moving to Masham in Yorkshire during June. A search of local papers would seem to be the best route to find details of Hugh's death, cheers, Jon
