Remembered Today:

BOARDMAN TRENCH

CROONAERT

Recommended Posts

I am trying to find the exact location of BOARDMAN TRENCH, mentioned in the war diary of the 11th Manchesters on 7th June 1917.

I know that it was somewhere in front of Wijtschaete, but I'm looking for a map reference (trench map sheet 28SW2-5a) if at all possible. It's a British trench and they're not named on my editions of this map.

Thanks in advance,

Dave.

Thanks Jacky.

I've found it now. Running North to South right?

Which side of the N-S running road is it? East or West? (It's unclear on the map I have in front of me).

Thanks again,

Dave.

  • 2 weeks later...

Does anyone know the origin of the name? Coincidentally I'm currently researching Lt Col Thomas Boardman DSO and was just wondering...
