Adam Llewellyn Posted 21 July , 2008 Share Posted 21 July , 2008 Good Morning Peter, There's a MIC for William on Ancestry, date of entry 7.11.1915. to France and res Z in the remarks column. There are also some service and pension records for a William Garlick, but not with the matching service number. Regards. Llew.

Esskay Posted 22 July , 2008 Share Posted 22 July , 2008 A couple of things Peter - his father Saxon was a surgeon per 1891 and 1901 census'. In the 1901 one young William is shown as a boarder along with 17 other young fellows at 17 Alexandra (I think) Road in Blackpool. Head of the household was a school teacher (in brackets and crossed out - Collegiate School) and his wife When I did a quick google search the Collegiate School in Blackpool appears to have been a girls school though (and it may not have been founded as early as 1901) It does seem to have been associated to some degree with Blackpool Grammar (for boys) so you might be able to go in that direction perhaps His death was registered in the district of Barton upon Irwell (Lancs) 2nd qtr 1921 vol 8c page 635 - depending on how interested you are you should be able to get more info from a death cert - via - http://www.gro.gov.uk/gro/content/certificates/ Cheers Sue
