Hello David.

I am not surprised that a regular who served with the 1st Hants,came from Scotland.

On the memorial in one of my local churchyards,is the name of a man who was killed in action at Loos,in September,1915.

A native of Donnington,Berkshire,he was killed while serving as a Captain,with the 9th Cameronians!

It is a long way to Scotland,from here.
