neil5856 Posted 11 July , 2008 Share Posted 11 July , 2008 I wondered if anyone could throw any light on my grandfather's assignments? He was with the RFA, Thomas H Cartwright, Driver No. 4504. He was later an Acting Bombadier. He went to France, Qualifying Date 22/08/1915. He was from Nantwich in Cheshire. I have notions that he was in the Battle of Albert, and then the Somme, but I don't know. Neil
jay dubaya Posted 11 July , 2008 Share Posted 11 July , 2008 Hi Neil, I don't know the exact landing dates of the 23rd Divisional Artillery but going on the date from Thomas' MIC it would suggest that he may have been part of this divison, the artillery brigades were 102nd-105th RFA. I'll have a look at my notes when I'm back home if no-one has stepped in in the meantime, cheers, Jon
