Northern Soul Posted 11 July , 2008 Share Posted 11 July , 2008 A Territorial - originally 4th Battalion, Gloucestershire Regiment (their 1917-renumbering sequence was 200001 - 240000). As a Terrier he kept his number on transfer to other non-TF battalions of the Gloucester Regt. Don't know whether you have his SWB/Medal Card. He enlisted on 22nd Nov., 1915 - almost certainly in response to the Derby Scheme, which had a cut-off of mid-December, 1915. Because there is no 4-figure TF number indicated it is safe to say that he probably went abroad after about Feb/March-1917. Andy.
eviltaxman Posted 11 July , 2008 Share Posted 11 July , 2008 Pete, The 2nd Btn were Regulars and his MIC (below) doesn't show a TF number following the re-numbering that went on. The MIC is actually his SWB card with the MIC details added.... so he was pensioned off. There may be records for him on Ancestry. EDIT - see the above reply (beaten to it again ) Les
