Can a pal check to see if this is the correct date of death for a Royal Scots Fusiliers bloke please

http://www.cwgc.org/search/casualty_detail...casualty=685223

CWGC has his date of death as the 12/06/15 which is just 6 days after landing, something tells me it should be the 12/07/15 when the RSF took a pounding in Gallipoli. Is there anything in the war diary for the 12th June.

I hope someone can help

Hello Kevin

Another thought is that, if the original repot of his death (Army Form B103, IIRC) had a clerical error, then Soldiers Died, CWGC records and the National Memorial could still be wrong even if they all had the same date.

The War Diary should have the answer,as you requested in Post 1.

In the meantime, when I read the book (British Regiments at Gallipoli) or something quite similar (!) it was a fact of daily life that troops were shelled on arrival,on deployment,in trenches,in fact wherever a movement was spotted. I could imagine this man being hit at any time, one day,6 days, or 3 months, into the deployment.

If you don't get an answer as to what is in the Diary PM me by Aug 10.
