Blackblue Posted 8 July , 2008 Share Posted 8 July , 2008 The 2nd Battalion were on the beach and were ordered to move into Reserve at Walker's Ridge to hold trenches against Turkish counter attacks. Half the Battalion appear to have moved into the front line at about 10.30pm. They lost 109 men that day....so exactly how he died is anyones guess. The war diary mentions very heavy shrapnel whilst moving up. No individual mention of this man anywhere. Rgds Tim
