ralphjd Posted 4 July , 2008 Share Posted 4 July , 2008 Ray, He would have enlisted in the KRRC originally and then, possibly due to recovery from wounds,or his battalion being decimated, have been transferred to the Rifle Brigade to make up their numbers. stiletto_33853 Posted 4 July , 2008 Share Posted 4 July , 2008 Ray, The enlistment dates for both numbers are very similar, so, I would suggest that he enlisted in the KRRC and was moved to the RB very soon afterwards. This was very common between the two regiments. Andy
Stebie9173 Posted 4 July , 2008 Share Posted 4 July , 2008 It is normal, though not exclusively so, for SDGW to list "formerly" Regiments as Regiments with which a man had served with before going overseas. Steve.
