Dannemois Posted 2 July , 2008 Share Posted 2 July , 2008 Can someone please enlighten me the meaning of the stamped 'qualifing date' on medal cards. Did it mean date a soldier signed on? Roy
high wood Posted 2 July , 2008 Share Posted 2 July , 2008 The qualifying date is the date that the soldier arrived in theatre or war zone. The 1914 Star, for example, was awarded to all those who had served in France and Belgium between 5th August and 22nd November 1914. The clasp was awarded to those who were under fire between these dates. Other medals have similar qualification dates.

HarryBettsMCDCM Posted 2 July , 2008 Share Posted 2 July , 2008 However the Qualifying Date heading is also printed on the Cards for BWM & Victory "Pairs" but is rarely completed with an entry {save those of Officers}
