T.F.N.S Badge

Hello,

I have been reading the service documents of a TFNS Nurse and it states that at the end of her service, she was allowed to retain her TFNS Badge 'permanently'.

My question is, what was this badge? Is it the small medal type badge worn on their uniforms?

Thanks for your time,

Stewart

It was their cape badge. A small oval in silver about 3.5 x 2 cms with a crown above. In the centre the crossed double A of Queen Alexandra and around the rim the inscription Territorial Force Nursing Service. Worn on the left side of the uniform cape from a ribbon 1.7 cms wide of red with a central white stripe.

Hello and thank you very much for your reply. Yes, that was the thing I thought it might be. I have seen a number of photographs of it.

Many thanks for your time,

Stewart
