Ron Clifton Posted 29 June , 2008 Share Posted 29 June , 2008 Hello Candle War Diaries are at Kew in the following files: WO95/4895 Nov 15 - Oct 16 WO95/4838 Nov 18 - Aug 17 for the Salonika theatre; WO95/4585 Sep 17 - June 1919 for Egypt and Palestine. Note that this is the Regular 2nd Bn. There was also a 2nd Garrison Bn, formed during the war, which also served at Salonika. I think that you can order copies of the diaries through the National Archives website: www.nationalarchives.gov.uk Ron
Patricia Bargh Posted 29 June , 2008 Author Share Posted 29 June , 2008 Thanks for that Ron I didn't realise there was also a 2nd Garrison Bn, my grandfather may have been with that as he went over in 1914 with the First Bn. to France and then was transferred to the 2nd Bn during late 1915 and sent to Salonika. Will have to check that out. Candle
