For some time now I have been trying to find a picture of a relative who went down on HMS Invincible in 1916. His name was John Stanley Ruthven and he was an electrical Artificer 4th class. The picture I have found is below. Which leads me to the question can anybody Identify the uniform? Could it be an WW1 Artificers Uniform.

I suggest that you re post this in the Uniforms and/ or ships and navies forums, where it has more chance of being answered.

Have you got a copy of his service register? Free to download at Kew, £3.50 online.

We have searched all the records we can find, which includes the internet and research centres. We would just like a picture of him as we know so much about him and his family. We have a picture of him as a small child but that seems to be all. The woman in the photograph is my Great, Great Grandmother. We got the picture from an American relative who is also researching the family history.

Thank you for the advise i'll give it a try
