alan_42 Posted 17 June , 2008 Author Share Posted 17 June , 2008 Many thanks. Parks seems like an interesting case that deserves further examination. After all that time seems a shame. Linking these men to Weston now is next step. J.T. Holland for eg seems to have no ties here. Have found many men from Midlands who are rembered/ buried here seemingly without reason. Many thanks Ellie Alan

Many thanks Ellie Alan I am sure that alot of wounded soldiers would have been sent to WESTON for hospital treatment, its coastal position would have been ideal for patient recovery. Unfortunately, alot of soldiers would have died during treatment and buried in WESTON rather than being transported home. A check of the newspapers from the time should reveal details of their funerals. Also bear in mind that men weren't neccesarily commemorated on memorials in their home town, they could have been married and for whatever reason, their widows were living in WESTON when the names were being put together for the memorial.
