Hi there,

just aquired this badge from my favourite [lol] auction house and i wonder if anyone can tell me anything about it?

Would it be considered rare? A collectible item?

I dont have many WW1 badges but seeing this made me go for it.

Any information would be gratefully received.

Thank you

Andy

What you have is a association badge formed after the great war . I have the rubber stamp and other items for the Glasgow branch, there was branches up and down the country i would not consider it rare . I was told some time ago that some one has partial records of who some of these badges was issued to wish they would come forward with the info.

Whilst not rare they are not common {@ best membership could have only been the number of 1914 star holder survivors & I doubt very much if there was anywhere near Full membership take up},each badge was numbered with an issue number and worn in the mufti coat lapel of veterans,[scarcer is the "Associate" badge, worn by non holders of the Star of which there were fewer]
