Guest Crow1903 Posted 14 June , 2008 Share Posted 14 June , 2008 Hi, This is my first post so please bear with me. Does anyone know how many families lost 4 sons in the first world war please? I have medals for the 4 Reid brothers (including one who served with the Canadian forces) and the 1 surviving son and was wondering how often this happened. One cannot even start to imagine the agony those families went through. Sandra
alliekiwi Posted 14 June , 2008 Share Posted 14 June , 2008 Hi, Sandra. Welcome to the board. There was an old thread about families with multiple casualties (click here to go to it), but I don't know if your Reid brothers are mentioned on it. It would be interesting to see if there is any information about them considering you have their medals. Are you a relative? Allie

The Reid brothers do not appear to be listed. I am not a relative, although my husbands family originated form the area. The medals were listed on Ebay, personally I can't understand why?? I have researched them a bit and got a great response from an ad in a Scottish newspaper. I was just curious if there were stats available for such events.
