Remembered Today:

Great War Officer

Would anyone with a copy of a navy list please look up the above officer. I have him named on a document as a Captain in 1916-1917, although he could be either RN or RM. The entry looks like:

A.K. Maexorie Capt.

but I believe it to be:

A.K. MacLorie Capt.

If anyone comes across a similar officer named in the list I'd be keen to know about that as well. He may have been serving on HMS Theseus.

Thanks in advance,

Alex.

I think your man is A K Macrorie. "The Naval Who's Who, 1917" shows him as Commander of Victoria and Albert from August 1911 to 6 May 1914. Promoted to Captain. MVO, 11 Aug 1913 on the conclusion of King George's visit to Cowes for the Regatta. Commended for service in action during operations in Gallipoli, April 1915-January 1916 (London Gazette 14 March 1916.)

That is about the sum total of my naval references. Regards. Dick Flory
