Guest KevinEndon Posted 17 November , 2007 Share Posted 17 November , 2007 Please enlighten us as to why you have posted a picture of a highlanders shoe. More info would be much appreciated please. Kevin
tocemma Posted 17 November , 2007 Author Share Posted 17 November , 2007 Hi Kevin, These are postings on highland kit. There was discussion of spats and other Scottish items a little while ago. I had wanted to post back then but work commitments meant that I have only now been able to start photographing some of these items. See my posts on Hose, Flashes, Spats etc. This info is posted for other collectors of WW1 British items. They are rare pieces and not often seen. Highland shoes were not worn much after 1914 surviving examples are very scarce. Joe Sweeney and others have mentioned some of these items in recent posts. Joe Sweeney Posted 17 November , 2007 Share Posted 17 November , 2007 Paul, Once again real nice--extremely rare shoe along with a "clump sole". Is there a date? Joe
4thGordons Posted 18 November , 2007 Share Posted 18 November , 2007 I'd just like to publicly thank Tocemma for the great selection of pics of various items of highland garb he has posted. They have been of great interest to me and a great follow up to the original thread - so thanks! Chris
Muerrisch Posted 18 November , 2007 Share Posted 18 November , 2007 rather than scramble about to catch up with these items, may we please have a list of topic titles so we can bring them together?
