egbert Posted 31 August , 2013 Author Share Posted 31 August , 2013 Happy days in Gumbinnen. Here with a detachment of Austrian-Hungarian soldiers. I think Schweijk is visible at the right side.
egbert Posted 31 August , 2013 Author Share Posted 31 August , 2013 This pre war photo was found with a Russian PoW soldier, when times were much friendlier....
roughdiamond Posted 31 August , 2013 Share Posted 31 August , 2013 Really egbert? Re-enactments should be on Skindles rather than the WW1 dedicated forums. But then you know that! Sam
egbert Posted 31 August , 2013 Author Share Posted 31 August , 2013 I received these photos from a Polish friend, whose ancestors fight with IR 155 at Kalisch. I have no reason to believe that they are not IR 155. Photos copied from original. With this particular, I do not know whether these are Russian prisoners to the Austrian detachment or vice versa:
egbert Posted 31 August , 2013 Author Share Posted 31 August , 2013 A more Happy Hour the Germans encountered. Before or after the battle is not known. They surely knew how to lure pretty nurses in their camp.
