auchonvillerssomme Posted 7 February , 2010 Share Posted 7 February , 2010 It means the medals weren't deliverable - they were retained by the medal office for 10 years I belive.
Admin kenf48 Posted 7 February , 2010 Admin Share Posted 7 February , 2010 http://www.1914-1918.net/grandad/mic.htm and http://1914-1918.invisionzone.com/forums/i...mp;#entry763290 may help are you sure it's Ost? A mystery entry is a number/Adt e.g 3601/Adt in the absence of any other explanation (as yet) I speculate this refers to an amendment to the rolls by a clerk in the Medal Office. So the medals would have been sent to the soldier's next of kin (included was a note requesting their return if undelivered) they may have moved, for example. As explained above the relevant King's Regulation 1743 explained how they should be dealt with. (Kings Regulations in force can be found at the IWM site.
