Maxsparky Posted 5 April , 2009 Share Posted 5 April , 2009 This stone memorial, situated within the North Transept of St Annes Cathedral, contains the Chapel of the Royal Irish Rangers and Royal Irish Regiment. The stone was erected in memory of members of former Irish Regiments who where awarded the Victoria Cross. The chapel contains other items of military interest – laid up Regimental colours, the personal banners of Sir Gerald Templar and Sir James Steele, a Rolls of Honour of various Irish regiments and the Old Comrades Association standards of The Royal Irish Rifles Service Battalions from the Great War.
