kildaremark Posted 4 November , 2008 Share Posted 4 November , 2008 just bought this book €30 + €3 postage/packing from RIA website. Some excellent images, recruitment posters, photos etc on all aspects of the war from an Irish perspective - homefront, recruitment etc. A good buy for anyone interested in Ireland during the war. kildaremark Posted 5 November , 2008 Author Share Posted 5 November , 2008 The book is 320 pages, illustrated with plenty of World War 1 posters, letters from Somme Heritage Centre, IWM photos, cartoons from the time, plenty of mentions of 36th Division mostly in passing rather than anything else. Photos of 12th RIR. Famous pictures such as "Battle of the Somme, the attack of the Ulster Division" by Beadle 1918 and one called "Fed up Ulster Division" by William Conor 1916. Contributors are Paul Bew, Terence Brown, David Fitzpatrick, John Horne, Keith Jeffery, Philip Orr amongst others. Available from Royal Irish Academy website: www.ria.ie/publications/index - £24 sterling / €30. Mark
