Desmond7 Posted 21 October , 2005 Share Posted 21 October , 2005 Many thanks from the Ancre Brigade!!! I was amazed to see the Ancre Stellung. Could this be part of the Bibercolonie which Ralph J. Whitehead first made me aware of? I wonder if this is party of the German fortifications around the 'mound' (discussed in earlier threads). Malte Znaniecki Posted 22 October , 2005 Author Share Posted 22 October , 2005 Many thanks, Des ! Very interesting to see the same place in 1916 and nowadays. Malte
andigger Posted 22 October , 2005 Share Posted 22 October , 2005 Definitely an incredible picture Des. It also looks like you have one of Malte's pictures in the article. What source is referenced for the image? Is it the same, 'Die 26. Reserve-Division im Weltkrieg 1914/18'? My thought is that there could be other copies of this collection out there.
