Remembered Today:

Doctor or Driver

I have today taken possession of a BWM bought from a dealer in Egypt via ebay. The medal is named DR. ALY BEY IBRAHIM RAMIZ. A unit isn't given. Has anyone seen such a naming before? Had it been to a Driver I would have expected a unit to be impressed. So I am leaning towards it being awarded to a Doctor but I am really only making a guess. Anyone able to give a more certain assessment?

Jim I would think Driver, Egyptian Expeditionary Force, his Medal Index Card [With Full name] comes up if you search "Ibrahim" as a First Name, with "Egyptian" in "Regiment/Corps" Section,& "Driver" in "Other Number,Rank,Etc".also entered

The other BWM that I obtained from the same source is impressed 7789 3-BN. E.A.

I know that some Chinese and Arabic medals were so impressed relying on the service number only to identify the recipient. But does anyone know if the MIC actually has an Anglicized attempt at a name or just lists the numbers?
