She was not eligible, the card refers to Army Medal Office correspondence which is now destroyed. Dorothy probably wrote claiming her medals, to which she was not entitled. She was never actually enlisted as she made her own way to the front and persuaded a Sapper in a Tunnelling Company to conceal her in Albert. It is not known what medals she claimed but she was in France June to September 1915. She was never entitled to any medals as she evaded security to get to the front as an unauthorised freelance journalist. Women got medals if they were enlisted with one of the recognised services. I assume they are boys, especially the bugler, and did not go overseas. Like Dorothy Lawrence's, the cards just contain references to correspondence rather than to actual rolls.
