The next two bits seem (if you'll forgive me) to be a bit jumbled and don't really make sense. I guess something along the lines of 'Better to have died in war than....?' Any chance of posting the pic? It may be more immediately apparant what it says to a Welsh speaker than your assumption of what it says (again, please forgive me - no criticism or slight intended). Sheep were wandering up and down the street, but that didn't make us feel at home because that never happens in NZ. Visited the slate museum, nice steam engines. Smaller world.
