Gallipoli veteran and cricket loving L/Sgt Albert E Skinner, a man of the Buffs attached to the 2/4th Royal West Kents, was killed on 4th November 1917 during an attack on Turkish positions in the hills near El Khulweilfe, about 20 miles north of Beersheba.

This blog will include what we know about the role Albert, his family and his battalion played in the First World War. Some of which we have uncovered ourselves, some of which I am indebted to other members of this forum for providing.
