Top tip for today is.....remember the name of the person you're looking for.

Barrie Duncan and I took a trip to the Gordon Highlanders museum last week. While we were there, I asked about a man on my roll who had served in the Gordons and won the DCM.

So we were escorted to the research library, where both of us gawped at the books on the shelves. While there, the staff had a look for me, and found nothing. Mainly because it wasn't a John Dunlop Anderson I was after, but a George Ogilvie Anderson.

So, to conclude: if you take the research material with you, don't leave it in the car like I did because you're laptop is quite heavy.
