Michael fought in Gallipoli, Alexandria and France.
Though not noted as a casualty, he was transferred back to England after the Battle of the Somme on 8-7-16.
He returned to the RNR 2-10-16.
The war will end for Private Murphy 13-4-18, when he receives his Blighty - a GSW to his right thigh with broken femur and he is once again returned to England.
Michael is eventually demobilized at St. John's, 5-7-19.
