The Great Promise
After four years I have completed my book, thus adding a new page to my life's story. With the manuscript an element of one of my grandfather's stories was satisfied, one started in 1914.
Isn't it interesting how when an event happens in one life, it affects the stories of so many. Just the other day I was talking with my youngest son about what was happening in his job. He works for the land conservatory in Asheville, North Carolina as an ecologist. He was telling me that he had been reading old journals written by prior ecologist. Their stories were intriguing when he related them to his current work. I told him that is the power of stories and that he was now faced with documenting his own stories. In fact he could combine all the individual stories to encompass the changes that occurred over time. The world is facing an environmental crises and he has the opportunity to tell the world what he has found by writing his story.
Even-though my last page has been written, the manuscript is not yet in print. Since I'm self-publishing there are a few steps yet to be taken before printing. Once printed it will be up to me to promote my work, which will be a continuing legacy of events as they unfold.
