Well dear reader, on Saturday I enjoyed my very first Spa day experience.

A friend had retired from the workhouse and as a gift his goodly lady wife had purchased four day tickets at Hoars Cross, Eden Spa in Staffs.

As a complete newby to this sort of thing I have to say i was a bit unsure as to what to expect. I couldnt call on the other three blokes cos they were Spa virgins too.

Well what a day it was. I can highly recommend a day at this venue. Started off at 0830 with a nice breakfast, then a walk about to explore the venue.

I didn't opt for the 'treatments' on offer (Facials, massages and other things) but I did have me a great hour and a half in the gym and the rest of the day was mostly spent in the pool, sauna or steam room. Lunch was thrown in and very nice it was too.

Then to cap it all off 'we' retired to the snooze room!! Blimey comfy beanbag type beds were scattered about the floor, some already occupied by sleeping bodies. Mood music and dim lighting soon had me super chilled.

It was such an effort to walk back to the car at the end of the day

So if the little key in the middle of your back ever gets a tad tight you may wish to consider a visit to this (or a similar) venue. I will defo be going back again soon.
