George Joseph James

I am trying to work out when a relative of mine, George Joseph James enlisted in the Royal Field Artillery service (number 66180). He won the 1914 Star and MM in 1917 , and was later commissioned in Spr 1918 and remained in the Army after the Great War reaching the rank of Acting Lt Col by WW2.

Any information or guidance will be great appreciated.
