100 YEARS AGO TODAY: Canada's Hundred Days - 99.   As Canada's Hundred Days is about to end, troops have already begun to march to assembly areas for the March to the Rhine - The Allied Occupation of Germany.  Formal ceremonies for the Canadian Corps are to be held in Grand Place, Mons tomorrow.  Allied POWs are released and begin to reach the former front lines, Thursday, 14th November 1918.   61st Field Battery, C.F.A., C.D.A., C.E.F.   Lt Virtue 61st Field Ba

Synopsis

100 years ago, my grandfather A/Bbdr Richard Francis Walshe and his comrades set acrossthe channel and their great adventure had truly begun. This post will chronicle his activity on a daily basis. I hope to be able to fill in the missing detailsfollowing their last war journal entry of 3 May 1919, while their Brigade was still in Orp-le-Grand, Belgium and continue to their arrival in Halifax.
